The L.O.C.(S). Method 2020

Natural hair can be very dry, coarse and brittle. In fact, the most frequently asked question asked by ALL Naturals is "What can I do to keep my hair moisturized?" The answer is the L.O.C.(S). Method. The acronym for Liquid, Oil, Cream, Sealant. It is recommended that you apply the following to your hair to properly retain moisture:

  • Liquid based product

  • Oil based product

  • Cream based product

  • Sealant- heavy butter or thick oil

L.O.C.S Method Kit

The L.O.C.(S). Method is hands-down, one of the best ways to moisturize your hair when done with the right products and in the right order. Simply apply a layer of each product to your hair. *Sidebar- if you have fine or short hair, I would recommend applying a THIN amount of each layer to your hair to avoid the possibility of having overly-oily hair. On the other hand, those of you with thick, course or longer hair may be as generous as you need to be when applying each layer...

The purpose of applying each product in layers is to seal in the product applied before it. This is SOLID way to achieve maximum moisture, combats breakage, frizz and dryness. While adding shine and improving the overall health of your natural hair.

Reeta's Organics has designed a 4 pc L.O.C.(S). Method kit that will help you retain superior moisture. Below is our step by step of each product in the form of the L.O.C.(S). Method. (I would highly recommend starting out with freshly washed hair).

We also found that doing the L.C.O.S works better. It holds the more moisture by using the 7in1 oil Blend as a sealer along with the Whipped Mango Butter.

Step 1: Apply the L-Liquid:

Reeta's Organics Moisture Rich Leave-In Conditioner/Detangling Milk

Mist hair liberally. To detangle, part hair into desire size sections. Begin at the ends of your hair and work your way up to your roots detangling with a wide-tooth comb or just use your fingers.

Step 2: Apply the C-Cream:

Reeta's Organics Daily Moisture Cream

Liberally apply an even layer of the Cream from ends to roots.

L.O.C.S Oil

Step 3: Apply the O-Oil:

Reeta's Organics 7in1 Natural Oil Blend

Coat your hair with the oil. (Again) Begin at the ends of your hair and work your way up to you roots/scalp. Evenly distribute the oil throughout your hair. Do not be heavy-handed with this particular step. Over usage may result in super greasy hair.

Step 4: Apply the S-Sealant:

Reeta's Organics Whipped Mango

The final step is to liberally and evenly coat your hair with the Sealing butter. I personally put a generous amount of butter on my color-treated ends. This helps to reduce frizz.

After you have completed each step, you are now ready to style your hair as desired.

To a New Natural in search of a solid hair care regimen, or to a Veteran Natural who has never heard of this method, I highly recommend TRYING IT! In fact, try it for 30 days! I promise when you begin to follow the L.O.C.S. Method, you will see a huge difference in the health and appearance of your hair--as I said earlier. And although at first it may seem like a strange, long, drawn-out process; once you get the hang of it, it truly becomes a BREEZE!
